International references in the chemical industry

The chemical industry makes demands not just regarding explosion protection, but also regarding the durability of the materials used.
The aggressive ambient conditions include acids, lyes and chemical compounds. Selecting incorrect materials leads to considerable corrosion damage and may entail expensive reconstruction.

  • Portalkran mit zwei Seilzügen SH Ex und einer Gesamttragfähigkeit von 5 t, in der Raffinerie eines petrochemischen Unternehmens.

A portal crane with two explosion-proof SH Ex wire rope hoists and a total lifting capacity of 5,000 kg is used in the refinery of a petrochemical company. It transports the sulphurous, oxygenic and nitrogenous residues that arise in the processing of crude oil.

  • Kettenzug ST Ex bei Industrieeinsatz im Freien.

An explosion-proof ST 20 Ex chain hoist with a lifting capacity of up to 1,600 kg is used in a chemical plant for outdoor maintenance work. The narrow construction of the explosion-proof chain hoist allows use of the entire width of the crane bridge. The travel drives of the endcarriages for suspension cranes are also constructed in explosion-proof design.

  • Zweiträgerbrückenkran mit explosionsgeschütztem Seilzug AS 7 in Zwillingsausführung und Hilfshub.

Explosion-proof SH Ex wire rope hoists are used in a hydrogen liquefaction plant in Thailand for maintenance work on compressors. They are mounted on a double girder overhead travelling crane and have a lifting capacity of 130,000 kg each.

  • Seilzug SH Ex und Krankomponenten für Tiefsttemperaturen in Chemiewerk

Crane systems for the Russian market need to withstand all weather conditions. This explosion-proof double girder overhead travelling crane with an SH Ex wire rope hoist is designated for outdoor use in a chemical plant and fulfils explosion protection requirements for Zone 1. The hoist, motors and controls are housed in thermally insulated enclosures. The heaters in the enclosures are switched on automatically at –15 °C so that the crane can be operated safely in temperatures down to –40 °C.
