TDC Twin Drive Concept –

Particular safety regulations apply for transporting molten metal. The German Industrial Standard EN 14492-2 requires hoists to be designed in such a way that it is impossible for the load to fall if a component in the power flux should fail.
The Twin Drive Concept from
STAHL CraneSystems meets all these requirements.
Wire rope hoists with Twin Drive Concept are equipped as standard with two redundant motor-gear-units. Both motors are always activated synchronously. The brakes fitted to both motors are calculated so that each one is capable of braking or holding the load by itself in an emergency. Both brakes are activated together and act as operational and holding brake.
All drives on hoists with Twin Drive Concept are monitored by condition monitoring systems from STAHL CraneSystems.
